Working Hard to Keep Southwest Florida Active
This past 2015/2016 year, Orthopedic Center of Florida decided to vamp up their community education program and schedule their doctors at various medical venues, senior facilities, country clubs and community centers. Dr. John Mehalik, Dr. Andrew Gross, Dr. Daniel Harmon and Dr. Bryan Swift presented informative free seminars to a group of residents and answered individual questions about a specific condition, treatment or surgery technique related to his practice.
During one seminar in Estero, Florida, John N. Mehalik, M.D., a Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Surgeon Specializing in Arthroscopic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Shoulder and Knee, presented “New Advancement In The Diagnosis and Treatment of Shoulder Conditions.” The audience learned that new minimal invasive surgical procedures and more non-surgical choices result in decreased post-operative pain scores and quicker recovery time. Studies have shown that these new approaches allow for an earlier return to one’s favorite activities, sports and hobbies.
Dr. Mehalik referenced a recent article from the Wall Street Journal about a study at Mayo Clinic.
